About Me

Hello! I'm Matthew Poon, a learning designer born and raised in Hong Kong. My approach to designing learning solutions comes from a combination of:

• My Master's in Educational Communications and Technology at NYU, where I learned to use cognitive and learning science to design effective multimedia learning experiences

• The various work I've done across organizations, where I collaborate with cross-functional teams and manage projects to deliver effective learning and assessments for audiences of all ages

• My personal interest in game development, narrative design, and world building, which I take into my learning design work to create solutions where learners thrive within a learning ecosystem

Outside of instructional design, you'll find me playing a variety of video and board games, taking my dog out on long walks, or playing basketball at your nearby court.
